ESR's Classic Hybrid Clear is for iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 owners who want the phone's color visible and their MagSafe accessories in play. ESR describes a hard acrylic back, flexible polymer sides, raised screen edge, Camera Guard, and Air Guard corners.
Amazon's Cell Phone Basic Cases list placed this exact ASIN, B099JVC9HL, at No. 18 on September 16, 2026, at $12.99. That is a single ranking and price snapshot, not monthly sales or a lasting price.
Confirm the phone before considering the features
This version is for the regular iPhone 14 and regular iPhone 13. It is not interchangeable with the Mini, Plus, Pro, or Pro Max versions. Camera spacing, button placement, and the fit around the corners are model-specific. A near match can leave a loose corner, crowd a button, or expose the wrong part of the camera bump.
Check Settings or the original box, then match the model name exactly. The right case can be a good value at $12.99; the wrong fit is wasted money.
What the ESR is designed to do
The current Amazon listing describes a clear, slim MagSafe-compatible case with an anti-yellowing coating. It advertises SGS-tested 11-foot drop protection under its "3X military" wording. We have not reviewed the underlying test report. ESR describes a hard acrylic back, shock-absorbing polymer sides, Air Guard corners, a raised screen edge, and a Camera Guard as the components behind its protection claim. Those are manufacturer and seller descriptions, not PhoneGearDaily test results.
The transparent back leaves the phone's color visible. Raised edges are intended to keep the screen and camera away from a flat surface, though clearance depends on fit and any screen protector. The drop-test wording does not establish how your phone will fare in a fall; surface, angle and previous damage can differ.
Clear cases have a visible aging problem
Discoloration is easy to notice on a clear case. ESR says the back is acrylic and the sides use a polymer chosen for stronger yellowing resistance. Amazon's current listing claims resistance to discoloration after the equivalent of six months of use, based on an SGS test. The underlying report and a measured lifespan in everyday use were not available in the sources we checked.
We have no verified long-term owner account for this exact configuration. Treat the yellowing claim as the seller's description, and check the return and warranty terms for the seller you choose. Our clear-case buying guide explains how to record changes in the back and rails over time.
MagSafe is the practical reason to choose it
If you charge with a magnetic puck, use a battery pack during travel, mount the phone in the car, or carry a magnetic wallet, a compatible case lets you keep that routine. ESR lists this case as MagSafe compatible, so the feature is relevant for those setups.
ESR says the built-in magnets support MagSafe chargers and accessories; the Amazon listing advertises up to 1,500 g of holding force. That does not establish the holding force of a loaded wallet or a phone on a rough road. PhoneGearDaily has not tested this case with third-party gear.
The purchase call
Buy the ESR Classic Hybrid Clear if you own the regular iPhone 13 or 14, prefer a clear look, and use MagSafe often enough to miss it. The September 16 $12.99 snapshot makes it an inexpensive way to add a magnetic clear case without paying rugged-case prices.
Look elsewhere if you need an independently tested protection result, a heavily textured exterior, or proof of long-term resistance to yellowing. Before ordering, select the clear version for the standard iPhone 13 or 14 and check the final price. If you use a battery pack, also compare its footprint with the camera surround using our magnetic battery fit guide.
