Research and product comparisons

Our current articles are research-based. We use manufacturer documentation, standards bodies and relevant public authorities to explain compatibility and published specifications. Named comparisons identify the exact product or model, link their sources and date time-sensitive observations. Source claims and editorial judgments are distinguished from measurements.

Specifications can narrow a shortlist; they cannot establish grip, comfort, durability or drop protection in daily use. We have not physically tested the products in the current guides. A historical price or listing is not a promise of current stock, seller or price.

What a hands-on test would include

When we publish hands-on findings, the article will identify the device and accessory variant, the equipment and method, the time or conditions involved, and the actual observations. Measurements and photographs from that work will be labeled. A manufacturer's test claim will remain attributed to the manufacturer.

Checklists and tools

Our selection worksheets help readers check their own equipment. The USB-C setup checker uses the answers entered on the page to highlight missing specifications; it does not identify connected hardware, verify compatibility, certify products or measure speed. No answers are sent by the checker or saved after leaving the page.

Article hero images are editorial lifestyle illustrations. They show a scenario, not a documented product test or an exact recommended model. Product identity comes from the model name and linked source; original test photographs, when available, will be labeled separately.
