A charging-port cover is the main reason to put this black OtterBox Commuter on your shortlist. The case combines a rigid shell with a rubber inner layer for the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 13. If you plug in a cable several times a day, check whether opening the cover is a tradeoff you want to make.

We checked Amazon ASIN B0B7C9SPSF on October 25, 2026. It displayed $23.95 and appeared at No. 31 in Cell Phone Basic Cases Best Sellers. Price and rank can change; that observation does not tell us how many units sold. This guide draws on the listing and six customer review samples. We have not handled or drop-tested the case.

Start with the full iPhone name

The title and first feature heading name iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, while the text beneath that heading refers specifically to iPhone 14. Keep your comparison to the standard models named in this ASIN. The captured information does not establish fit for a Pro, Pro Max, Plus or mini.

Commuter is a series name used across phone generations. A review of another Commuter case cannot settle this version's dimensions or charging behavior. Before paying, check the selected Amazon option against the model in your phone's settings. Once fitted, try the buttons and your usual cable, and check clearance around the cameras.

A flap to open whenever you plug in

Port protection is listed in the product title. Brenis Thompson's verified-purchase review describes a flap over the charging port and finds it slightly awkward to use. That reviewer explicitly describes a deep magenta case, so this is not a confirmed account of the Black option. It does give you something specific to check: can you hold the flap aside and connect your cable comfortably?

A covered port may appeal if your current case leaves that opening exposed. We have no test of dust getting past the cover, its hinge life or how easily it opens with one hand. The cover also does not establish a waterproof seal or a water-resistance rating. If you need either, the evidence captured for this case does not answer that requirement.

The edges and back may feel different

The seller specifies a rigid shell, rubber inner layer and rubber-gripped edges. It describes the case as slim and pocket friendly. We have not measured its thickness against a bare phone or another case, so try the assembled case in the pocket you normally use before deciding to keep it.

The review sample contains different impressions of grip. Chesslamb's October 17 verified-purchase review reports easy installation and a pleasant feel in the hand. Emily A's September 13 review, also marked verified purchase, describes slippery plastic and says the phone slides flat when propped on a table. Neither captured review identifies both the phone model and Black finish. These reports point to checks you can make, without establishing a grip result for this exact option.

The listing also advertises drop protection exceeding three times the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standard and more than 35% recycled plastic. We have not inspected a supporting test report or verified how the recycled content was calculated. Treat both as seller claims. The drop wording is not a guarantee against damage in a particular fall.

Confirm your charging setup separately

The feature list says the case supports wireless charging. Our capture does not provide a measured charging rate or confirm a built-in magnetic array. If a magnetic car mount or wallet is essential to your setup, confirm that function for the exact case before ordering. Wireless charging compatibility alone does not establish magnetic holding strength.

Try your existing pad with the case installed and check that charging starts reliably. That is a delivery check for the buyer, not a test result from us. For someone who usually charges by cable, how the port flap works with the cable may matter more.

What the price buys you

At the observed $23.95, this Commuter is worth comparing if you want a layered case with a covered port for an iPhone 14 or iPhone 13. A folding stand, confirmed magnetic mounting and an independently measured drop result are not established by the captured listing. Check the selected offer's box contents, too; do not assume a screen protector comes with it.

Amazon's description mentions a limited warranty for material and workmanship defects. Eligibility, regional terms and claim costs for your order still need checking. The brand name alone does not establish coverage for accidental damage to the phone.

Our case index covers other models and designs. For the same standard iPhone 14/13 models, the ESR Classic Hybrid guide offers a comparison focused on a clear case and magnetic accessories. Our OtterBox Defender Pro article concerns different phones; it is not a fit reference for this Commuter.

Check the exact Commuter listing on Amazon, confirm the selected model and current price, and consider whether the port cover suits the way you charge.
